Meghan Markle takes ANOTHER break from her six-week hiatus to thank Grenfell community kitchen for its ‘leadership and inspiration’- a year after she made an official royal visit
- The Duchess of Sussex, 38, shared a touching Instagram post this afternoon
- She praised the west London Hubb Community Kitchen for their ‘leadership’
- Centre was set up to provide meals to neighbours affected by the Grenfell fire
The Duchess of Sussex has interrupted her six-week break from royal duties to pay tribute to the Hubb Community Kitchen.
Meghan’s Instagram account, which she shares with her husband Prince Harry, 35, praised the women for their ‘leadership and inspiration’ in a post this afternoon.
The mother-of-one, 38, first visited the west London centre in 2018, when it was set up by a number of local women to provide meals to neighbours affected by the Grenfell fire.
Since then, the duchess has made several other private trips to the kitchen and helped them produce a cookbook, which has raised over £500,000 for the charity.
Today’s post marked a year since Meghan’s first official royal engagement at the kitchen when she brought the camera with her.
Harry and Meghan, who share son Archie together, shared the message despite being on a six-week break from royal duties.

Wanting to shine a spotlight on the women’s work, the Sussexroyal Instagram account posted a picture of Meghan during a visit to the centre in November 2018.
The caption read: ‘It was just one year ago that The Duchess of Sussex made a special visit to the women of The Hubb Community Kitchen to help prepare meals for those in need.
‘The connection between The Duchess and these women began a year prior, as she supported them in the creation of “Together”, a charity cookbook which celebrates the power of cooking to bring communities together.
It continued: ‘Today, the women at the Hubb Community Kitchen continue to have a positive impact in their community, across the UK, and around the world.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently taking a six-week break from royal duties.
They are understood to be in the US with their seven-month-old son Archie, where reports suggest the couple spent Thanksgiving with close family.
Despite their break, Meghan continues to lend support to causes important to her, and shared a pre-recorded message for the launch of Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation on Friday.
The Duchess had visited a memorial to South African student in September during the royal tour, and tied a ribbon in memory of the 19-year-old.
Uyinene Mrwetyana was raped and murdered after visiting a post office, sparking outrage across the country.
