Meghan Markle gave Idris Elba key royal wedding instruction, the star reveals

Luther star Idris Elba has told how he felt the pressure of DJing at Meghan and Harry’s wedding reception – and revealed how the bride told him what to play.

The 49-year-old actor is no stranger to the decks and has DJd for Madonna and collaborated on a track with Sir Sir Paul McCartney.

But said the Royal Wedding reception – which took place at Frogmore House in Windsor, Berkshire – was his “most stressful” gig, reports the Mirror.

“This was a big, big deal,” Elba, who grew up in London, said.

“Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I knew what she wanted already.

“They’re good friends and I wanted to make sure they had a great time, so there was a lot of pressure.”

Elba, who made his name in US crime drama series The Wire, has also performed DJ sets at Ibiza superclubs and huge festivals around the world, reports Mail Online.

But dad-of-two Elba, who is a big Arsenal fan, entertained some global superstars at the royal wedding.

While showbusiness friends, including George Clooney and James Corden, were invited, some of Harry’s oldest friends were left wondering why they hadn’t made the guest list.

Tom Inskip — known by his friends as ‘Skippy’ – did not get an invite. Harry had been best friends with the man for years.

Elba’s revelation came amid claims Meghan and Harry were planning to carry out more quasi-“royal tours” next year.

Royal commentator Neil Sean claimed the couple would visit Australia and Japan in 2022, despite critics questioning what their new role was since breaking away from the Royal Family.

Speaking on his YouTube podcast, the royal expert said: “According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, ‘fake royal tours’ in 2022.

“Apparently they are looking to tour Australia, Japan and back to certain areas of the United States.”

Sean suggested Harry and Meghan are “not that popular right now” and that “maybe they’re hoping to reignite their once popularity in far-flung places.”
