Meghan Markle ‘genuinely feels hurt’ over royal family rift: report

Meghan Markle is still reportedly picking up the pieces as the rift between the Sussex camp and the royal family rages on.

Four years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal life, Markle still “genuinely feels hurt” over the feud, according to a report.

“Harry is more willing to move on, let’s just say that,” a source told the Express, adding that the “Suits” alum, 42, would still like to talk things through with the Windsor clan.

“It’s not a case of Meghan being difficult, she genuinely feels hurt and would like some kind of sit-down to hash things through — but that’s not something the other side is willing to consider at this time,” the insider added.

Despite Markle’s rumored desire to reconnect with the Firm, it seems as though hopes of a reconciliation seem far-fetched at this time.

According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles, “too much damage” has been done for things to go back to how they were.

“[Harry] caused damage and broke down trust,” Harrold exclusively told The Post this week. “It’s difficult when you’re a future monarch.”

“I doubt they’ll ever get back the relationship they had originally. That was a very different relationship built on trust. It’s going to take time. William is a tough character. He’s a good guy.”

According to Harrold, the only way the Sussexes can get let back into the royal fold is if Harry releases a public apology for all the hurt that was caused by his protocol-shattering memoir, “Spare.”

Soon after moving to Montecito, Calif., the duo signed up for a series of tell-all projects, each of which revealed bombshell details about the ongoing rift between the two camps.

After sitting down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Sussexes went on to release their six-part Netflix documentary.

Unsurprisingly, the lucrative projects have done them no favors in repairing their relationship with the royals.

On the other hand, the pair have established their own brand and public image in the US — one that has earned them a myriad of awards in recent years.

Most recently, Invictus Games founder Harry was named as the recipient of the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2024 ESPYs.

The honor has had its fair share of critics, however, including Tillman’s mother, Mary Tillman.

“I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award,” Mary told the Daily Mail. “There are recipients that are far more fitting. There are individuals working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans.”

The Pat Tillman Award is often given to unsung heroes, with the Buffalo Bills training staff who revived Damar Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a game, earning the recognition last year.

Even ESPN analyst Pat McAfee accused his own network of “trying to piss people off” for picking Prince Harry.
