Meghan Markle latest news – Prince Harry & Meg ‘should be STRIPPED of titles’ for attempt at politics demand Republicans

MEGHAN Markle has been criticised by a Republican congressman after her “laughable” attempt to enter US politics with an open letter.

Missouri Representative Jason Smith has demanded the royal family should strip the Duchess of her title after she signed the letter “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”

The Duchess called for paid parental amd medical leave for families, and reflected on her own experiences in a struggling, low-wage family.

But Congressman Smith told the MailOnline: “Ms. Markle’s latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles, particularly since she insists on sending this under the pretence of being the Duchess of Sussex.”

He continued: “While her attempts at appealing to working class families by recalling her days of eating at Sizzler were laughable, her comments make crystal clear that the passage of this massive tax-and-spend bill is aimed more at helping global elites get huge tax breaks than helping the working families she claims to have dined with.”

Meghan wrote to top US Democrat politicians Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer calling for them to act on giving parents paid parental leave.

  • Letter to Democrats from ‘The Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’

The Duchess wrote to House Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, urging for them to act on giving parents paid parental leave.

Meg, who recently took time off work after the birth of Lilibet in June, said millions of women had dropped out of the workforce at “an alarming rate” to care for their children.

“The working mom or parent is facing the conflict of being present or being paid. The sacrifice of either comes at a great cost,” she penned in her forthright letter.

But it seems Meghan forgot the golden rule of being a member of the Royal Family – staying above the current fray and avoiding party politics at all costs.

But fans on social media are viewing the letter as a sign the former actress plans to run for US President – despite her having no political background.

  • Kate’s childhood boyfriend

KATE Middleton pined for her childhood boyfriend who “messed her around”, before she met Prince William at university, it has been claimed.

Before she headed to St Andrews where she would meet her future husband, Kate was said to be hung up on Harry Blakelock, her first love from her school, Marlborough College.

A pal told the Mail on Sunday that Kate was still pining for Harry during her three-month trip to Florence, where she signed up to study Italian and History of Art.

The friend claimed: “When Kate arrived in Florence, she was really hung up about Harry.

“She spoke about him all the time and he seemed to have messed her around quite a bit.

“He seemed to have blown hot and cold with her when they were at school and she was always talking about how she could get him back.”

  • Pouring out the cash

The “ethical” investment group backed by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan has put tens of millions into chemical, pharma and oil companies.

New York-based Ethic, which unveiled the Sussexes as impact partners, has also poured cash into rich investment banks.

Paperwork filed in the US shows it invested around £1.1million in chemical firm Corteva Inc.

Royal author Penny Junor said: “Life is going to be very difficult for Meghan and Harry if they keep up this high profile. Ethical banking seems asking for trouble, setting themselves up for a fall.”

  • ‘The Queen has suffered a lot this year’

As well as losing Philip this year, the monarch has been hit by attacks on the Royal Family by Harry and Meghan and controversies around Prince Andrew.

“Her courtiers have noticed the Queen becoming more weary and perhaps more fragile than she was — and who could be surprised?”

  • Wills and Kate want Charlotte & Louis ‘to have own careers’

CONSIDERING how they call Kensington Palace home and The Queen grandma, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis aren’t just your ordinary kids.

But despite all the luxuries that come with growing up Royal, Prince William and Kate Middleton are eager to give their three children as normal an upbringing as possible.

As their eldest son George will one day become King, it’s been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want Charlotte and Louis to pursue their own careers independent of the Royal Family.

Fronting The Telegraph’s Royal Insight series, royal expert Camilla Tominey said William and Kate know that George “has his destiny planned out”.

However, the couple are eager to ensure they “get the balance right” with their two youngest children.

Instead of working as full-time royals, the expert suggested Charlotte and Louis may be encouraged to forge a career path like Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have.

She claimed: “[William and Kate] don’t want history to repeat itself and Prince Louis seem like a royal hanger-on and go down the Duke of York path.”

  • Diana heirlooms ‘to go to granddaughter Charlotte’ instead

Princess Charlotte is in line to inherit one of Princess Diana’s most iconic heirlooms, instead of Lilibet Diana, it is claimed.

A number of pieces could be passed down to six-year-old Charlotte when she is old enough, including the breathtaking Spencer Tiara, which Diana wore on her wedding day.

According to GoodToKnow, Charlotte will get the “pick of the palace jewels” as her dad Prince William is second in line to the throne and she is his only daughter.

MEGHAN Markle fans have spotted a huge ‘clue’ that the Sussexes split from the royal family was inevitable.

Prior to becoming a duchess, Meghan Markle was well within her successful career, acting and running her own lifestyle blog.

In a 2015 interview with InStyle, Meghan spoke of her ambition of becoming a ‘girl boss’.

“I think the biggest part of being a girl boss in the office, at home, or anywhere you go is just knowing your value.”

Meghan went on to make comments that have now been picked up on being ‘relevant’ to her continued drama with the royal family.

“Don’t get involved in the interoffice politics…You’ll be endlessly happier for it.”

Her Majesty, 95, attended ten official engagements within 19 days before being told to rest by Royal doctors.

She was sent to be seen by specialists at King Edward VII hospital in London on Wednesday afternoon – a measure believed to have been taken out of caution.

Her Majesty was discharged the following morning — with Buckingham Palace saying she was in “good spirits” after “preliminary investigations” during her visit to hospital.

She was said to be reading her official government red boxes and is expected to recuperate for the rest of the week.

Furious republicans have told Meghan Markle to “stick to acting” following her “politically motivated” letter to Congress.

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, wrote a lengthy plea to two Democratic lawmakers in Washington DC on Thursday in which she advocated for paid family leave.

But now incensed politicians have hit back at Megan for daring to “intervene” in US politics – even calling on the Queen to strip the royal of her titles.

In a rant to the Mail Online, Republican Jason Smith, who represents Missouri, said: “Ms. Markle’s latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles, particularly since she insists on sending this under the pretence of being the Duchess of Sussex.”

Royal experts had previously called her letter, addressed to Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, a “first try” for the Duchess to move into politics.

  • Queen’s hospital stay ‘covered up’ (Continued…)

Peter Hunt, a royal commentator and former BBC journalist, also said: “The media’s faith in the veracity of royal communications will have been sorely tested by the failed attempt to hide the fact the Queen spent a night in hospital.

“Buckingham Palace can ill afford a breakdown in trust, given all they’re dealing with.”

And Royal expert and biographer Ingrid Seward added: “They did mislead the media.

“I think they were trying to protect the Queen, because she would not have wanted a fuss, but it was misleading.”

  • Royal insiders slam claims Queen’s hospital stay was ‘covered up’

ROYAL insiders have slammed claims that the Queen’s hospital stay was “covered up”, and say the public were “given the complete picture.”

Buckingham Palace has been accused of misleading the public about the Queen’s health after The Sun revealed Her Majesty had spent a night in hospital.

And now correspondents and journalists have slammed the palace for not giving the public the full picture of the Queen’s health.

Nicholas Witchell, the BBC’s royal correspondent, insisted journalists – and the public – “weren’t given the complete picture.”

He added: “The problem, it seems to me, is that rumour and misinformation always thrive in the absence of proper, accurate and trustworthy information.”

  • ‘Ultimate goal’

Pals of the Duchess have previously claimed that she had confided in a friend that her ultimate goal was to become President.

According to sources, she admitted the ambitious goal after beginning her relationship with Harry.

In 2015, she reportedly told Piers Morgan: “As a kid, I wanted to be either the president or a news broadcaster like you”.

Former editor of The Times, Sir Simon Jenkins has said: “Her friends and associates affirm that she is a political animal.

“Such is her fame, she could perfectly well follow a route taken by a certain Ronald Reagan.”

  • Prince William’s unruly behaviour at school

According to Robert Lacey’s royal biography Battle of Brothers, William was called ‘Basher Wills’ or ‘Billy the Basher’ by his classmates.

The royal biographer wrote: “Still not ten years old, William was already establishing the pattern of open disdain and aggression towards his father that would mark his early adult life – but more of that later.

“The young prince had picked up his nicknames of ‘Basher Wills’ or ‘Billy the Basher’ when he joined Mrs Jane Mynors’ Nursery School in Notting Hill, not far from Kensington Palace, in September 1985.

“Noisy, cheeky and defiant of discipline, Wills soon angered his classmates by pushing his way to the front of the dinner queue and getting involved in playground fights.”

Royal watchers say Buckingham Palace ‘could have handled it differently’ after the news of the Queen’s overnight hospital stay was leaked.

Dickie Arbiter, a former press secretary to the Queen said: “It could have been handled differently.

“They could have made an announcement after she was back at Windsor Castle, saying, ‘The Queen has been to hospital for tests. She is now back at the castle. She is working. That is all we are saying. End of’.”

Experts say Kate Middleton is the “last hope” against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stylish celebrity lifestyle.

For the Palace Confidential podcast, journalist Charlotte Griffiths said: “I think it’s essential they turn up the glamour, because the ‘Fab Four’ never came to fruition.

“I’m afraid, the Royal Family look quite bland compared to Meghan and Harry, they just have that star quality.

“And Kate has got to ramp it up, because she’s got to bring the glamour. She is our last hope for glamour in the Royal Family now.”

  • What’s going on with Her Majesty’s health?

On Wednesday Her Majesty cancelled a two-day trip to Northern Ireland on doctors’ advice.

Concerns were first raised when she started to use a walking stick on engagements at Westminster Abbey and the Welsh parliament this month.

On Tuesday she was on her feet for more than an hour at a business summit at Windsor Castle.

She has also decided to give up alcohol following the death of Prince Philip, 99, in April.

It was believed the Queen’s medical team acted out of caution to have her admitted to King Edward VII hospital in Marylebone on Wednesday.

Yesterday afternoon Her Maj, 95, was understood to be back at her desk at Windsor Castle.

She was said to be reading her official government red boxes and is expected to recuperate for the rest of the week.

The Palace said: “Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today (Thursday) and remains in good spirits.”

  • ‘They did mislead the media’

Following the concern for the Queen’s health and the confusion at messages from the Palace, BBC correspondent Nicholas Witchell said: “We are told that she’s back at Windsor Castle, undertaking light duties.

“Well, we must hope that we can place reliance on what the palace is telling us.”

And Royal expert and biographer Ingrid Seward added: “They did mislead the media.

“I think they were trying to protect the Queen, because she would not have wanted a fuss, but it was misleading.”
