Meghan Markle saw ‘no warmth in monarchy’ only ‘judgement’ in major royal blow | Royal | News

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been out of the royal fold for almost a year, but the review for their exit — also known as Megxit — has reportedly been axed. The couple are said to be content with their current set-up, but have not seen the Royal Family since last March. Some still claim Harry wants a face-to-face discussion with his family over their Megxit arrangements, but it remains to be seen if Meghan would go with him.

Royal correspondent Angela Levin claimed: “I don’t think Meghan will come back.

“She obviously hated it within the Royal Family and was preparing to leave even before the wedding.

“I think she wouldn’t want to come back.

“She didn’t like the UK [as] it was too small for her.”

Meghan’s friends have also told the Daily Mail her trip to complete her final engagements back in March only reassured her they had made the right choice.

An insider claimed: “She said [the trip] has been a confirmation that they made the right choice in parting ways.

“There’s no warmth between the family members and she wants to raise Archie in a household that is filled with laughter and joy and lots of hugs.

“It’s still weird to her that no one hugs and that everyone is so uptight, especially Kate.”

The Royal Family is known for being entrenched in tradition and protocol, although very few know what its individual family members are like with one another behind closed doors.

However, Meghan has spoken out about her difficulty with accepting the British “stiff upper lip”, a trait which is often synonymous with the monarchy.

The tension between the Cambridges and the Sussexes was palpable at Meghan and Harry’s final royal engagement last March.

Although sitting only a row apart in Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day service, the two couples barely acknowledged each other.

A source also told Vanity Fair Kate took their exit “badly”, as she was particularly sad at how well she used to get along with Harry.

The tensions between William and Harry are also said to have started after the Duke of Cambridge urged his brother to take his relationship with Meghan slowly at first.

Royal author Leslie Carroll told Express.co.uk: “William has not always felt warmly toward Meghan, [but] he needs to accept that she’s Harry’s wife, the mother of their son, and the woman he adores—his soul mate.”

Another royal biographer, Howard Hodgson, also explained that in the Megxit review, William was likely to take a cold and detached stance.

He told Express.co.uk: “Charles is easily the softest on Harry.

“The Queen is very annoyed, and his brother William is very, very annoyed.

“There is that sort of hard-cutting edge to William that is with the Queen in so far that they believe there is no room for any feelings [in the monarchy].”

The Sussexes are yet to announce any definite plans for a UK return as the pandemic continues to have a tight grip on Britain.
