Meghan Markle’s ‘only trusted adviser’ is becoming ‘hard as nails’ Doria Ragland as the Sussexes trust ‘very, very few people in their own families

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been shunning their Royal advisers but there is one person they are said to trust; her mum Doria Ragland.

Royal sources say LA-based Doria, 62, is on the phone throughout the day and has helped the couple with everything from staff issues to living arrangements.

According to the Mail on Sunday, a source said: “People think Doria is hippy-dippy and chilled out because she’s a yoga instructor.

“But, like any mother, she’s hard as nails when it comes to protecting her daughter.

“Harry adores Doria and thinks she’s incredibly wise. These days, the Sussexes trust very, very few people even in their own respective families.”

The publication claimed it was Doria who fired one of the three nannies Meghan, 38, and Harry, 34, employed following Archie’s birth on May 6.

The Mail added she is “well on the way to becoming Meghan’s only trusted adviser.”

Meghan was nicknamed Tungsten by Prince Charles, 70, in a nod to her unwavering strength, and sources say this is a quality she inherited from Doria.

Due to Meghan requesting her mum is very “hands on” in her life, Doria’s “fingerprints are all over several major decisions the Duke and Duchess have made in recent months”.

Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.

This comes as rumours of tension between the Fab Four – after it was announced the Cambridges and Sussexes were to split households and their joint charity foundation.

The Duchess of Sussex has allegedly ruffled feathers among staff, insiders claim, after it was previously rumoured courtiers referred to her as “Duchess Difficult”.

Kensington Palace has denied reports in the past of Meghan having a strained relationship with her staff.

But there have been a number of reports about how the Duchess of Sussex is said to have a demanding personality and rigorous work ethic.

Meghan is said to have an unrelenting schedule – reportedly bombarding her staff at dawn with various demands from as early as 5am.

And she is said to have “ripped up the rulebook” when it comes to the royals with her constant messages to staff.

A royal insider said: “Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment.”

The duchess has had a number of staff resignations since she joined the royal family in May, including their private secretary Samantha Cohen, who will leave after the royal baby arrives.

It came as a shock to many when it was reported last year that Samantha, who has worked at the palace for 17 years, was to leave her role.

Another high profile aide for Meghan, Melissa Toubati, sensationally resigned just six months after the royal wedding.

The French assistant who played a “pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding” ditched her appointment after “putting up with a lot”.

And Meghan’s right-hand woman Amy Pickerill, who was appointed as her secretary last year, was also announced to be leaving.

It has been announced that the couple have hired high-flying diplomat Fiona Mcilwham, 45, to be their next private secretary.
