Charity Wellbeing of Women is calling on employers to sign its Menopause Workplace Pledge and take positive action to make sure everyone going through the menopause is supported.
Women make up nearly half of the UK workforce, yet many feel forced to reduce their hours, pass up promotions, or even leave their jobs due to lack of menopause support.
Wellbeing of Women says that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face particular challenges in supporting women at this life stage.
The charity has launched a toolkit of resources tailored for all staff in SMEs to create menopause positive workplaces.
After signing the pledge, employers are encouraged to take at least one positive action a year towards becoming a menopause positive workplace.
Since the campaign launched, more than 3,100 employers have signed the pledge, including Bupa, BSI, BBC, Tesco and Royal Mail.
