Michelin-trained chef shares ‘to die for’ air fryer caramelised carrot recipe ahead of Christmas

Michelin-trained chef Poppy O’Toole has shared a delicious new way to cook carrots – by roasting them in an air fryer. The culinary expert, who boasts over a decade of experience in fine dining, took to TikTok to share her recipe for “Honey-roasted carrots in the air fryer.”

She confessed: “I have been a chef for over 10 years working in fine dining restaurants, all that jazz, proper posh stuff.”

She added: “And when I tell you that I am converted to an air fryer… it’s such a good bit of kit. So this is my honey-roasted carrots. Super simple, super easy.”

To recreate Poppy’s dish, start by trimming and peeling the carrots, then halve them and pop them into the air fryer for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.

While they’re cooking, combine honey, butter, salt, and pepper in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until melted. Once the carrots are done, coat them in the honey-butter mixture, then return them to the air fryer for another 10 minutes at the same temperature, reports the Mirror.

Showcasing the final product, Poppy declared: “Forget your round little soggy carrots, we’ve got delicious, soft, crispy, sweet, sticky caramelised carrots.”

TikTok user @sara223 was among those who tried the recipe, commenting: “Omg wow! I just made these yesterday. They are to die for! “.

Social media users have been sharing their rave reviews about a delicious recipe, with @yvonneconnell tweeting: “I made these and they were absolutely delicious, thank you. I did parsnips the same with them.”

Similarly, @joannepunshon201 joined in the praise, commenting: “I tried these last night and they were amazing. Very quick and easy.”

Adding a twist to the recipe, @hull_26g suggested: “I’ve been having these for years but we also add a teaspoon of fresh fine-grated ginger to the honey and butter.”
