Douglas McAllister stopped by the Clydebank Delivery Office to thank the team for their hard work over this busy period, when Royal Mail handles around twice its usual volume of letters and parcels.
The visit, which took place on November 28, gave Mr McAllister the chance to meet staff and learn how the service manages the surge in demand.

During the visit, the MP spoke with staff about how Royal Mail is adapting to the continued growth in parcel volumes without compromising its core letter delivery service.
He also spoke with customer operations manager Paul McBryan, who outlined Royal Mail’s efforts to improve customer convenience, including the UK’s largest network of parcel points.

Mr McAllister said: “It was great to visit Paul and all the hard-working team at the Clydebank Royal Mail Delivery Office again this year and get an insight into the busy Black Friday period in the run-up to Christmas.
“Thank you to everyone at Royal Mail for being so welcoming and for all they do ensuring my constituents get their parcels delivered in the best condition, and on time for Christmas.”

To cope with the seasonal peak, the Clydebank Delivery Office has taken on four temporary workers and added three temporary vehicles.
With more than 24,000 locations nationwide, including 2400 parcel lockers and 1400 parcel postboxes, customers have a wider range of drop-off and collection options than ever before.
The company is also rolling out 3500 ‘postboxes of the future’, designed to accept larger parcels to offer even more flexibility during the busy Christmas season.
Paul McBryan, customer operations manager for Clydebank, said: “Christmas is our busiest time of year and the whole Royal Mail team in Clydebank is proud to play a part in it.
“It was great to have Douglas visit our Delivery Office to show how we are pulling out all the stops to deliver Christmas for our customers.”
