THE BIG DAY is less than two months away, and many of us will be feeling the pinch following a rough year due to increased energy and food costs.

But don’t worry, Fabulous columnist and Money Saving Mum Gemma Bird says you can still save over £2,000 before December 25th.

With a few simple modifications, the 40-year-old super-saver, who has never earned more than £25,000 a year, reveals how YOU can leave your savings account more stuffed than a turkey.

“You don’t need to spend a lot of money and get yourself into debt to have a fantastic Christmas,” Gemma, who lives in Billericay, Essex, with her husband Adam and their two-year-old daughter Bronte, explains.

“I never spend more than £180 all-in, and I’ve only spent £20 on my kids’ presents when I’ve been in a pinch – and I never buy Adam anything.”

“At the end of the day, Christmas is just one day, and if you follow my money-saving advice, you may be richer than ever this holiday season.”

Finding seasonal work is a great way to get some additional money during the winter months.

With everyone ordering everything online these days, delivery firms like Hermes and Amazon are always short staffed around the holidays.

Morrisons, for example, is in desperate need of extra help during the busiest season of the year.

And, for the rest of the season, Royal Mail is hiring mail sorters; they have flexible schedules, so you can easily fit them into your calendar.

According to Total Jobs, seasonal labor pays roughly £10 an hour on average, which means you’d need to work just two eight-hour hours every week to earn £1,280 by Christmas Day.

Even if it means dressing up as an Elf or flogging Christmas trees as a Christmas tree salesperson, make sure you register with a temp agency like Reed to earn some additional cash.

We all have a box of Christmas decorations that we no longer use, so instead of letting it sit in the attic for another year, why not sell it?

This is the only time of year when they’ll be in such high demand, so you’ll make a lot of money.

Last year, we sold a box of vintage decorations on Facebook Marketplace for a modest fortune.

Anything that isn’t going up goes up for sale in our house.
