Mystery Children in Need box post topper appears in Abingdon

A MYSTERY knitter has struck again with a colourful postbox topper for Children in Need.

The cosy knit sits on a postbox in Market Place in Abingdon outside The Nursery Shop.

It is decorated with two bears including the famous Pudsey and covered in polka dots.

Children in Need is organised by the BBC and raises money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

This year’s 41st Children in Need appeal show took place on November 19, and raised £39,389,048 on the night.

This comes after the appearance of ‘Ronald’, a knitted khaki post box topper created for Remembrance Day.

The crafty knitter has left no name, only a note on the postbox.

It says: “Thank you for all the kindness you have shown towards Ronald, he is back inside now.

“Here is a topper for Children in Need, if you can please give, it has been a tough time. Thanks and enjoy.”
