Royal fans claim Queen Mary of Denmark has been playing favourites with her children after allowing her youngest daughter, Princess Josephine, to attend the royal hunt as her special guest.
The 13-year-old princess’ appearance at the hunt came days after she was spotted on an Australian beach alongside her glamorous 52-year-old mum. Her twin brother Vincent was also invited on the trip.
The beloved Australian-born Queen could be seen smiling down at her teenaged daughter as they rode in the carriage and stood on the balcony for the popular hunt.
The Queen attended the iconic Hubertusjagt, which is held at Hermitage Palace in Dyrehaven, to hand out her prize of honor.
The annual hunt involves 160 riders who chase the ‘fox’ which has, these days, been replaced by two experienced riders and is always held on the first Sunday of November.
The ‘fox’ is followed over hedges and water features across the park – and follows a 13km route.
Dating back to the 1900s, the event marks the end of the Danish hunting season, and attracts some 40,000 spectators.
Queen Mary became patron of the Hubertus Hunt’s event following the death of her father-in-law Prince Henrik in 2018, when she was still the Crown Princess.

This year’s hunt came just days after the one-year anniversary of the ‘Madrid scandal’ – where her husband, then the Crown Prince, was photographed alone in Spain with his friend, glamorous Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.
At the time, the pictures sparked affair rumours which Genoveva was quick to deny and which the Danish Palace refuse to address.
Queen Mary made headlines on the anniversary when she appeared on Bronte Beach in Sydney, Australia. Her young daughter by her side.
The next day the glamorous royal was spotted at Balmoral Beach, this time with friends.
Queen Mary was in Australia for her niece’s wedding. Her youngest son Prince Vincent was also on the secret holiday, though wasn’t photographed with his mother until they were spotted leaving the country.
Meanwhile King Frederik was hosting a hunt of his own at Gludsted Plantage. His first as King of Denmark.
His decision to go hunting on the anniversary sparked controversy as that’s allegedly where he first met his friend Genoveva.
26 guests took part in the King’s first royal hunt including primary producers, politicians and members of the court.

The couple’s relationship has been under scrutiny for 12 months
While many royal watchers questioned why the couple decided to spend the one-year anniversary of the scandal apart.
Others pleaded for the couple to be ‘left alone’.
‘There’s a reason the rear-view mirror is so small and the windshield so big. Where you are headed is much more important than what you left behind.’ Apparently this couple understand this,’ one fan said.
‘Unless you were hiding under the bed, you don’t know what happened,’ said another.
‘He is a Royal King and can do what he wants. She is not Danish and from a commoner family,’ said a third.
Some simply ‘felt sad’ for the royals.
‘Old Mary’s been looking miserable for over a year, she’s got the same look in her eyes as Charlene of Monaco has,’ one man said.
