New luxury bus to boost Jamaican tourism | eSponsored

The arrival of Jamaica’s first luxury bus, the AEC Reliance Britannia, marks an exciting milestone for local tourism. Unloaded in Kingston on Monday from the cargo vessel Albany, this state-of-the-art vehicle, ordered by Beryson Agencies Ltd. for the Morning Star Bus Company, will enhance sightseeing tours in Montego Bay

First luxury bus here

The first luxury bus to be imported into Jamaica, arrived in Kingston on Monday afternoon in the cargo vessel Albany from London.

The bus, a AEC Bellance Britannia, was ordered in England by Beryson Agencies Ltd. of Kingston for the Morning Star Bus Company of Montego Bay at a cost of approximately £8,500.  It will be used by the Morning Star Company for sightseeing tours in the Montego Bay area.

The chassis of the Reliance Britannia was built at the AEC factory at Middlesex, England.  The body was built by the Duple Body Works of Hendon.

The bus, which can seat forty-one persons, was unloaded at Royal Mall Wharf yesterday morning.

Similar buses are being used in England for sightseeing tours.  The bus is air-conditioned, with wide glass windows, and is fitted with adjustable seats, among other features.
