New owner looks to restore old post office

Earlier on Tuesday, the Evansville Redevelopment Commission agreed unanimously during a meeting to begin negotiations to transfer a lease to Bashar Hamami that would allow him to renovate the 1875 structure from decay. The building originally was used as a customs house and then the post office. There even was a Federal courtroom, Hamami said.
