New post box topper in North Berwick pays tribute to the Queen

A NORTH Berwick group of knitting enthusiasts have paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II with a post box topper in her memory.

The group NB Toppers, which consists of Judy Lockhart-Hunter, Pat Christie and Linda Digney created the topper last Thursday, the night of her death.

Judy said: “We didn’t have anything prepared but we felt compelled to put something out.

“We added seven black bows, one for each decade of her reign, and sewed a thicker black ribbon around the side.”

The group previously produced commemorative toppers for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Easter and Fringe by the Sea.

The new post box topper is on the town’s Quality Street.
