In August, Royal Mail announced that they would be changing the iconic pillar boxes to a more futuristic design, allowing the postage of small parcels through the use of solar power.
Across the UK, the mail company has begun to roll out the 3,500 new post boxes, with some already appearing in Swanmore.

The idea was introduced as a way to keep up with growing competition and demand within the delivery sector, after the firm was fined millions for not meeting delivery targets.
The design includes solar panels at the top of the boxes which activate the parcel drawer, allowing customers to deposit small parcels, as well as a barcode scanner which opens a drop-down drawer to accommodate bigger parcels.
Royal Mail has also said it will start delivering second-class letters on every other weekday and not on Saturdays to reduce costs.
