Newquay ruled out as hideaway location for Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw and Greg James

Radio presenters Nick Grimshaw and Greg James have been hiding for over 24 hours in the world’s biggest game of hide and seek.

The potential location of their hideaway was narrowed down to one of six locations, with Newquay and Plymouth both being on that list.

Newquay has now been ruled out by the duo, which means they aren’t in Cornwall.

The other places left on the list are Southend, Weston-Super-Mare, Southampton, Brighton and Plymouth.

The reason people thought that Cornwall could have been the location are as follows:

First, fans saw a plane carrying a mysterious coded banner. It ended with EM, F & TM, WTP and DK.

It was confirmed that F&TM means Florence and the Machine and WTP means Winnie The Pooh.

Florence is playing at Boardmasters this summer and many people on twitter are suggesting that there is a Winnie The Pooh Boat in Newquay .

The location was near to a drive thru McDonald’s, with Nick sneaking out to complete their breakfast order in the back of a van.

BBC Radio Cornwall were also on the receiving end of a very suspicious postcard from Nick and Greg this morning.

Breakfast presenters James Churchfield and Julie Skentelbery said it arrived via Royal Mail special delivery on Wednesday morning.

Enquiries also pointed the hosts of the seekers camp, Clara Amfo and Matt Edmondson, in the direction of a space theme.

Songs were previously played with ‘sun’ and ‘stars’ in the lyrics and with it being the 50th anniversary of the moon landing listeners are wondering if they are in Leicester Space Centre. But lets not forget we have our own link to space down here at Goonhilly…

We already know Greg is a big fan of Cornwall after his #PassThePasty challenge last year, which could be a potential clue… Greg shone a light on the county with his ingenious challenge which saw a traditional pasty make its way to Aberdeenshire from Padstow.

Boardmasters 2019’s line-up leaked a week ago

And there’s the donkey clue, one listener tweeted: “OMG… Could it be Falmouth in Cornwall… There’s The Flicka Foundation in Mabe near Falmouth which is a donkey sanctuary and there’s a McDonald’s around ten minutes away… Also there’s a harbour in Falmouth for the Winnie the Pooh boat.. #hideandseek.”

But it turns out that Cornwall isn’t their location but could they be just the other side of Tamar Bridge?
