The Post Office is now situated inside the former Peter Jacks Family Butchers shop in Market Street after it closed last summer.
The reopening on Wednesday (March 26) marks a new chapter for Powys’ largest town’s Post Office after many decades at the Shortbridge Street shop next door to the Royal Mail delivery office.
The move follows a six-week public consultation late last year to gather customers’ views on the proposed relocation before the lease ended at the previous premises in March.

Newtown was without a Post Office branch for almost a fortnight while the new premises, which were empty, underwent a refurbishment to include a convenience store and Post Office services.
The same postmaster continues to operate the Market Street branch which offers the same range of products and services.
There are three serving positions in total which include a Post Office serving point at the retail counter and two screens.
Sarah Cottrell, Post Office Regional Change Manager, said: “We are delighted that the postmaster has new premises to maintain vital services to the community.”
Newtown Post Office opening hours have remained as Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and from 9am to 12pm on Saturday.
