NFU Mutual appoints new fleet risk manager to lead growth

NFU Mutual has appointed a new fleet risk manager to help shape the commercial insurer’s fleet proposition and expand its current book.

Mark Bromhall previously spent 19 years at Royal Mail, with the last nine of those in the role of road safety manager, achieving significant collision reductions during that time.

Bromhall, who started working as a claims handler in 1994 and developed a career within the insurance industry over the following 12 years, has primary expertise in fleet risk management as well as an understanding of life as a fleet operator and the challenges faced.

“I’ll be using those attributes to help inform business approaches and, most importantly, to support our customers in managing their road risk,” he said.

Bromhall will help NFU Mutual expand its fleet book and support policyholders, and also said that the opportunity to shape the proposition and support different fleets improve risk management and reduce road casualties was a major attraction.

“Working in claims I’ve seen how collisions devastate lives, so for me the opportunity to stop that happening is what motivates me,” remarked Bromhall. “The industry is full of great people working together to move things forward and it’s very rewarding to be a part of that.”

He continued: “The ambition to grow and the focus on supporting our customers makes this an exciting time to join.

“Good fleet risk management is a critical element of running a successful fleet business and I’ll be helping NFU Mutual to support fleets across all sectors.”

Speaking on Bromhall’s appointment, Zoe Knight, head of commercial at NFU Mutual, said: “His knowledge and expertise will help both the business and our customers as we continue to look to grow our fleet offering.”
