Northampton man charged with aggravated burglary after ‘screwdriver attack’

A 42-year-old man has been charged with aggravated burglary following an incident in Kingsthorpe, Northampton. Joseph Delaney, of Lennox Walk, Northampton, is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday (October 6).

It comes after a man was allegedly assaulted outside his home, in Helmdon Crescent, with a screwdriver, at about 10pm on Wednesday, October 4. He was taken to hospital but thankfully did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

Delaney has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary in connection with the incident.
