Not getting mail? Full list of Scots postcodes hit by MAJOR Royal Mail delays

Royal Mail has warned that deliveries in parts of Glasgow and Lanark are currently facing disruption due to local staff shortages and other regional pressures.

The postal operator confirmed that the Glasgow G52 delivery office, covering postcodes G52 and G53, as well as the Lanark delivery office, covering ML8 and ML11, are among those affected.

Customers in these areas may not receive their usual daily deliveries while the issues persist.

This follows earlier disruption to delivery services in the Uddingston and Johnstone areas reported around two weeks ago.

Royal Mail said it aims to deliver six days a week but that “high levels of sick absence, resourcing or other local factors” have affected some offices. The company said: “In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.”

It added: “We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

The service apologised for the disruption, saying: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

The company stressed that its air and road transport networks remain on schedule and that all mail processed at sorting centres over the past 24 hours was dispatched as planned.

However, local delivery capacity in parts of Glasgow and Lanark has been impacted, leading to temporary delays for households and businesses.

Royal Mail said rotating deliveries would help spread delays more evenly rather than leaving some customers without any service for prolonged periods.

It has urged customers in G52, G53, ML8 and ML11 to check its online postcode checker for the latest updates before making delivery enquiries and to allow extra time for mail while remedial work continues.

The list of affected postcodes is updated daily on Royal Mail’s website, with the company saying it will continue to provide targeted support to the Glasgow and Lanark offices while working to restore normal service.
