Number of Ill. families on food stamps jumps 12 percent, sets new record

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Elizabeth Garcia says food stamps allow her to feed her three children. The eastern Illinois woman’s family is one of the record 780,000 Illinois households who relied on food stamps in June.
