Nuneaton hospital issues urgent message to patients amid Royal Mail strike action

Bosses at Nuneaton’s hospital have reassured patients that they are determined to make sure that letters reach them in time amid the Royal Mail strike action. The George Eliot Hospital has said that the continued strike action may impact the time it takes for patients to receive letters from them.

“We would like to reassure all patients that we are working hard to ensure letters are sent in a timely way to limit any potential impact,” the hospital said. “We will also be telephoning some patients to ensure you are able to attend appointments during this time.

“If you are in urgent need of information about your appointment or are unable to attend your appointment, please contact our patient call centre on 02476 865050 as soon as possible.”

Next strike dates

Royal Mail workers and members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) have carried out a number of strike dates. They have planned seven more strikes in December, including Christmas Eve.

Royal Mail workers are embroiled in a long-running dispute over pay, jobs and conditions. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said its members will walk out on December 14, 15, 23 and 24.
