Nurseries and pre-schools celebrate King Charles’s coronation

From crowns to corgis, nurseries across the country have been marking the coronation with royal celebrations fit for the King.

Charming Chariot

At Advantage Day Nursery in Surbiton, the children made a coronation display, including thrown version of the state coach, and enjoyed the lead up to the festivities.

Classroom corgis

In North West London, the children from Alyth Kindergarten were visited by two corgis, Sharka and Sudsa, owned by Craig and Aidan. The children were delighted to welcome the royal pups, and even wore corgi, Charles and Camilla masks.

Royal Mail

Children from Walton Pre-School in Essex have created cards for King Charles III with stamps depicting themselves in silhouette. In their cards, they have asked the King questions to extend their knowledge of the Royal Family. The local Royal Mail office sent a special delivery van to collect the letters and to deliver them to Buckingham Palace.

Royal High-ness

The children at Mylnhurst Preparatory School and Nursery have been measuring each other using Union Jack paper chains. The children used ‘mathematical language’ and have challenged themselves to make a chain the length of their playground.

Picture Perfect

Showing off their creative talents, the children at Shrubbery School Nursery have been busy drawing King Charles. They also hosted their own coronation celebrations, taking turns to wear the crown!

Painting Palaces

At Pace School, in Buckingham, the children learnt about the coronation and took part in lots of activities as part of their celebrations, including learning about castles and painting pictures of them.

Treasure Hunt

At the Belong nursery in Chester, the children enjoyed a royal treasure hunt, with homemade crowns ahead of the coronation celebrations.

Bejewelled Crowns

In Windes, St Gerard’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School’s reception class have been busy decorating their own crowns ahead of the big day.
