Omni Partners picks up Infoshare and CIPFA’s key software assets

Omni Partners has acquired Infoshare, a data management company and two key software assets from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA): AssetManager.net and CIPFAStats+.

Founded in 1996, Infoshare’s clients include the Met Police, Royal Mail and many local authorities. It is based in Oxfordshire, UK.

AssetManager.net is an advanced asset management platform and CIPFAStats+ is an interactive data analysis tool.

These acquisitions form the foundation of the rebranded Infoshareplus, an organization that aims to transform government technology services in the public sector, according to a release.

Infoshareplus will help local government and other public sector clients improve service efficiency, data accuracy, asset management and performance benchmarking, as well as produce data analytics and insights, the release said.

The company will address a gap in the fragmented govtech market that is dominated by a “handful” of large consolidators that often overlook the smaller government software providers, it added.

“Omni is dedicated to advancing the evolving needs of the public sector and building a platform of trusted software solution providers,” said Wayne Story, partner at Omni, in a statement. “In this first step, we’re excited to work alongside Infoshare’s data experts and invest in CIPFA’s high-quality software solutions, bringing increased efficiency and innovation to our public sector clients and adding value to all of their stakeholders.”

Infoshareplus will provide services to CIPFA and its membership base through the acquired software products, it said.

The transaction provides Omni with the platform to make further investments in the sector. The firm is seeking to identify data partnerships and additional public sector-focused software providers with complementary govtech products, the release said.

Ex-Civica executive Steve Thorn will serve as Infoshareplus’ executive chairman. Pamela Cook, current CEO of Infoshare, will lead business development for Infoshareplus.

Omni is an investment manager based in London.

CIPFA is a professional accountancy body dedicated exclusively to public finance, setting standards and offering guidance for public sector financial management.

Omni was advised by Mayer Brown (legal), Dow Schofield Watts (DSW) (financial and tax), RSM (tax structuring), LucidIQ (technology) and CCC Contract Consultancy (contracts).
