EBay Inc. reported Wednesday that revenue from its marketplaces business, which includes eBay.com and other e-commerce sites, rose 19 percent to $1.7 billion in the second quarter. Though still small, its quickly growing mobile business helped contribute to the growth with its slate of eBay apps for smartphones and tablet computers.
