The organiser behind Maidenhead’s first coffee festival is hoping the event will create a buzz for coffee connoisseurs in the town.
Vicky Weddell, founder of Moneyrow Beans, has organised a day of tasting, workshops and latte art at Norden Farm to celebrate the coffee scene in Maidenhead.
The Moneyrow Green resident started her own coffee roasting business from her garden shed during the first coronavirus lockdown.
Since launching her company, Vicky has travelled to Uganda to learn more about the work of Gorilla Conservation Coffee who support coffee farmers living next door to endangered gorillas.
She now roasts small batches at Moss End Garden Village and is keen to share her passion with the wider community.
The 48-year-old told the Advertiser: “There’s lots of people, especially during lockdown, who got into coffee at home and making better coffee and I wanted to give them access to some tips, advice and machines to have a go on.
“This is something that should be fun, accessible and you can meet other coffee loving people and try lots of different coffees.”
Those who attend the coffee festival will learn how to make better coffee at home, how to taste coffee and the secrets behind latte art.
Talks are also planned by coffee brands.
The event is taking place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, September 16 at Norden Farm.
