Oxfordshire community centre has royal visit and karate fun

Pictures in this collection show long-standing community hubs hosting activities, new ones being opened, and some that were just starting to be built.

And the first ever lord mayor of Oxford, Evan Owen Roberts, opened the now thriving Northway Community Centre back in 1963.

Also pictured here are some of the vast range of martial arts classes which have been hosted at centres throughout the years, from boxing to karate, Tai Chi to Qigong.

Princess Anne also visited Barton Community Centre where she met locals.
