On December 24, at the invitation of UNICEF and the Coordinating Center for the Development of Family Education and Child Care, the hero of the series of fairy tales by the British writer Michael Bond and the film of the same name Paddington Bear visited Ukraine for the first time. This is reported Public.

He came with a charitable purpose: to join a campaign to support children deprived of parental care

The purpose of his visit is to join the campaign “Ukraine for every child” and to support Ukrainian orphans and to encourage society to adopt.

Paddington is a unique character whose own story is a vivid example of how family can change lives. Once alone and lost at a train station in London, he found comfort, love and support in the foster family of the Browns.

“I used to think that the greatest joy in life was marmalade, but then I met the Brown family and realized that the greatest joy is having a family,” said Paddington.

As the head of UNICEF in Ukraine, Munir Mammadzade, noted, his story is a reminder that every child deserves love and care. Therefore, now Vedmeja wants to help Ukrainian children to find their family as well, to become the voice of those who dream of a home, comfort and support.

As we previously reported, the Royal Mail of Great Britain released special stamps with Paddington Bear for his 65th birthday.

Paddington Bear is the hero of the book by the English writer Michael Bond and the children’s series of the same name. The book about Paddington Bear is considered a classic of children’s literature.

Today, books about Paddington have been translated into 31 languages. Also, 265 licenses were issued for various products using the bear’s name.

In 2014, the premiere of the adventure comedy “Adventures of Paddington” took place in Great Britain. In the Ukrainian version, the current president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, became the voice of the bear cub. He voiced the hero in two parts of the comedy film. The purpose of his arrival was to join the campaign “Ukraine for Every Child” and support Ukrainian orphans and call on society to adopt.
