ParcelPal NI allows consumers to locate PUDO points

The Consumer Council has launched a pickup/drop-off (PUDO) store location website called ParcelPal NI for people in Northern Ireland to locate their nearest PUDO point for collection and sending parcels.

Most PUDO points are run by individual carriers – few in the UK and Northern Ireland are ‘carrier agnostic’ as with Naerboks in Denmark. Consequently those looking to pick up or drop off parcels have to seek the shops and lockers through individual carriers. The Consumer council’s ParcelPal NI allows this to be done through one website.

Carriers covered by the ParcelPal NI website include Royal Mail, Hermes, DHL, DPD, Post Office, UPS and others.

Kellin McCloskey, Head of Postal Services at The Consumer Council explained: “With Christmas fast approaching you may need to send a present to friends and family. ParcelPal NI helps you to find the most convenient location, which can be a top priority during the busy festive period.

“A number of companies in your area may provide parcel services from local shops or outlets where you can send parcels. These locations may also allow you to pick up goods you have bought online, collect a missed delivery or return online shopping to retailers.

“Shopping around for different parcel companies in your area may also save you money on postage costs.”
