Parcels stolen during burglary at Royal Mail sorting office

A CRATE of parcels is believed to have been stolen during an early hours burglary at the Royal Mail’s Warrington collection centre.

The Milner Street sorting office was broken into at around 3.45am on Friday, December 4, by a man wearing a high-vis jacket – who stole a crate of ‘unknown items’ from inside the premises.

He targeted the site again shortly after 5am the same day, but was spotted by a member of staff and chased out of the building.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 5.10am on Friday, December 4, police were called to reports of a burglary at a delivery depot on Milner Street.

“Police attended, and after examining CCTV footage they found that at around 3.45am on December 4 an unknown man had gained entry into the premises and stolen a crate full of unknown items.

“The same man is believed to have returned to the premises shortly after 5am and again entered the building.

“On the second occasion, he was spotted by a member of staff and chased out of the building.

“The man is described as white, around 5ft10 tall, of medium build with scruffy, shoulder length hair.

“He was wearing glasses, dark clothing and an orange high-visibility vest.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML866050, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
