Paris Hilton, 43, is opening up about her love for Princess Diana – and why she has so much admiration for her.
In a joint interview with her bestie and former Simple Life costar Nicole Richie for W Magazine published this week, the socialite explained why Princess Diana was a woman who she looked up to as a role model.
‘Princess Diana had such a huge heart and was always using her platform to help children and help the world be a better place,’ Hilton explained to the outlet.
The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry tragically passed away in a fatal car accident when Hilton was just 16 years old in 1997.
However, the heiress’s affection for the royal isn’t anything new, as this isn’t the first time that she has expressed her love for the iconic Princess.

In 2017, Hilton told Marie Claire that she looked up to elegant women like Princess Diana and could have been like them but the 2003 leak of her sex tape with then boyfriend, Rick Salomon, ‘took that all away from’ her.
‘It’s really hurtful, because my whole life I really looked up to Princess Diana, all these elegant, amazing women, and I feel like [Salomon] just took that all away from me,’ she tearfully told the outlet at the time about her ex, who was 33 years old at the time the tape was leaked.
‘I could have been like that, but because of that tape, I will always be judged and thought of as whatever they say about me because of a private moment between my boyfriend and me,’ she added.
Last year, the DJ also spoke about the international icon and even expressed sympathy for her son and estranged royal family member, Prince Harry.
She revealed that she had read his infamous memoir, Spare, and watched his and wife Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries.
‘I did read it and I watched the series as well and I thought he has been through so much,’ Hilton said while speaking to UK’s Magic Radio Breakfast presenter Harriet Scott, according to The Evening Standard.
She even compared his biography to her own, Paris: The Memoir, where the mom-of-two opened up about her traumatic experience at the Provo Canyon School and more about her childhood.
Hilton explained that she could relate to Prince Harry, because she ‘knew how hard’ it could be to live your life in the public eye.

‘I can’t imagine just losing my mum and Princess Diana was always one of my idols,’ she told Scott during an interview last year
‘It just breaks my heart they had to go through that and I know how it is with the media it can be so hard when they are just invading your lives constantly,’ the heiress added

Hilton’s interview with W Magazine comes as both she and Richie are getting together for a reunion docuseries titled Paris & Nicole: The Encore.
The show will touch on a few storylines from their 2000’s hit, The Simple Life, where they dropped the girls in situations out of their comfort zone – like with a family on a farm in Arkansas, or at a Sonic restaurant to complete a shift.
The ladies will go back to a few of those same places they filmed and worked in during the iconic show, along with a few new elements.
It is set to premiere on Peacock, but its release date has yet to be announced.
