Post Office customers in Glyncorrwg may recognise the new location as it’s exactly where the Post Office used to be before it closed in April 2021.
Post Office services will be restored to Glyncorrwg Post Office on Friday 5 July at 1pm at the Premier Stores on Dunraven Street in Glyncorrwg.
This will be operated by a new Postmaster.
The new opening hours will be Monday to Friday: 7am – 7pm; Saturday: 7am – 6pm. The Post Office say that this will provide 71 hours of service a week for the convenience of
customers.
The branch had previously been based at this location, however, it closed in April 2021
due to the resignation of the postmaster.
As a temporary solution a Mobile Post Office had been operated outside of these premises every Tuesday lunch time. This service, which has been provided by the Postmaster for Rhyd Y Fro, will cease on Tuesday 2 July at 2pm.
Fiona Shanahan, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring a full-time Post Office to Glyncorrwg as we know how important a Post Office is to a community. I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that our customers will continue to use this full-time service.
“I also want to thank the Postmaster for Rhyd Y Fro for providing the temporary Mobile service in the interim to maintain a part-time service.”
