Peanuts stamps: Royal Mail marks 75th anniversary | The latest National and International News

Royal Mail has unveiled a delightful collection of eight new stamps celebrating the 75th anniversary of the beloved Peanuts comic strip. The specially commissioned stamps feature classic characters with charming British touches that will resonate with collectors and fans alike.

The collection showcases iconic moments reimagined for British audiences, including Snoopy perched atop a traditional red postbox alongside his feathered friend Woodstock. Another stamp captures Lucy and Linus enjoying a quintessentially British seaside holiday, complete with sandcastle building.

Palace guard duty awaits

One particularly striking design shows Snoopy and Woodstock standing guard outside Buckingham Palace, bringing the famous beagle into the heart of British tradition. Meanwhile, Schroeder performs Edward Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance No 1 on his piano as Lucy, Snoopy and Charlie Brown celebrate nearby.

The remaining stamps feature Charlie Brown and Franklin playing football, plus another showing Charlie Brown and Snoopy caught in the rain. Each design maintains the distinctive charm that made Charles Schulz’s creation a global phenomenon.
