Pedestrian hit by lorry on Mere Street, Diss

Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm today to reports of an incident at the roundabout near Morrisons, Diss.

Officers are currently on scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

Emergency crews were seen to be gathered around a Royal Mail lorry.

Blankets were raised to block the view of the scene from shoppers passing by.

The air ambulance landed in the nearby park and the crew joined multiple police, fire and ambulance service crews at the scene.

Police advice that the road is likely to be blocked for some time.

A spokesman of Norfolk Police said: “The road is closed from Tesco in Victoria Road to the Park Hotel, while emergency services deal with the incident and local diversions are in place. Please avoid the area.”
