MEMBERS of the public will have the opportunity to raise money for the homeless as they brave the elements with the Big Sleep-Out.
Julian House has organised the fundraising event with Dorchester Town Council, due to take place on Friday, November 3 at Maumbury Rings.
The charity, which supports vulnerable and at-risk individuals, is inviting members of the public of all ages to sleep outside for one night to help support those forced to sleep out every night.
Last year, Julian House provided support to over 1,800 vulnerable individuals who were experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness across Dorset and the south west.
There is no entry fee for the event, however participants are encouraged to raise as much money as they can through sponsorship.
The Rapid Relief team will provide a small breakfast on the morning of the event which has had previous historical success with events in Bath, Basingstoke and Exeter.
Annabelle Lowes, senior community and events fundraiser at Julian House, said: “We are so delighted that this event is now taking place in Dorset!
“It holds a special place in the heart of our community and generates tremendous support and awareness for the vulnerable people that we care for. We are incredibly grateful for every participant’s effort in joining us to help raise vital funds.”
Places at the event are limited, and if you would like to get involved, contact Annabelle Lowes at Annabelle.lowes@julianhouse.org.uk or sign up at https://www.julianhouse.org.uk/support-us/events/big-dorset-sleep-out/
