Police are appealing for information after two valuable pet parrots were reported stolen from a home in Worksop.
Officers received reports of a break-in at a property on Stillwell Gardens, Worksop, in the early hours of Friday, December 5.
The family believe their two parrots, called Percy and Polly, were taken during the incident, as the suspects gained entry through a window.
Percy has blue, yellow and green feathers, whilst Polly has red and blue markings with grey feathers on her stomach.
Officers are now appealing for help from the public to help track them down.
According to Pets4Homes, a Macaw parrot costs between £300 and £1,200 in the UK, depending on the species and breeder.
However, the website has Macaws listed for as much as £3,400.
PC Alice Braben said: “Percy and Polly’s family are understandably very upset about losing their loved pets.
“Macaw parrots need specific care, so their family are anxious to ensure they are safe.
“We also understand that these types of birds are valuable and may be advertised online, so if you spot them for sale, or in an unusual setting, please report it.”
