As the UK gears up for the upcoming bank holiday weekend for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, there may be a few changes to supermarket opening times and Royal Mail deliveries.
The celebrations are set to kick off on Thursday, June 2, with Scots being able to enjoy a long four day weekend to mark her majesties’ 70 years on the throne.
With many bank holidays, supermarkets in Scotland have occasionally changed up their opening times, and your normal postal services can change as well.

Are supermarkets and stores open this bank holiday weekend?
Luckily for shoppers, it looks like many supermarkets and your favourite retailers will be open as normal for the Queen’s Jubilee. That means any last minute dashes for food, drinks and decorations will most likely not be interrupted.
As usual, shoppers are urged to check their local store for opening times, just in case there may be any changes.

Tesco
Most Tesco stores across Scotland will be open as normal. Operating hours are usually around 6am – 11pm. Some stores that are open until midnight will be closing earlier during the Queen’s Jubilee.

Aldi stores across Scotland will remain open. Normal opening hours are around 8am – 10pm, but the store’s bank holiday hours could see it close two hours earlier.

Lidl stores will remain open during the weekend. Their website says that they will be operating normal hours during the bank holiday. This means that stores will be open from around 8am – 10pm.

All Asda stores will be open during the long weekend and they have confirmed they will be open at normal hours. Each store follows a different schedule, but the average hours are 7am – 10pm.

Morrisons stores will be open as normal, with most stores open between 7am – 11pm.

Sainsbury’s stores across Scotland look to still be operating at normal times during the bank holiday weekend. Most larger stores are open from 7am – 10pm, while smaller stores tend to be open until 11pm.

Will The Royal Mail still deliver this bank holiday weekend?
The Royal Mail has said that it will not be offering any deliveries or collections during the Jubilee on both Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3.
