When plucky Pluckley postman Robin Medcalf sets off on his round he is delivering cards, parcels and letters in one of the country’s most haunted villages.

With Halloween upon us, 53-year-old Robin, tackles the ghostly round in Pluckley, Kent and he has been making postal deliveries on the seventeen-mile long route for over eight years.

His round also covers surrounding villages in the Tonbridge (TN) postcode area which have various spooky street and house names, including Cackle Hill, Grave Lane and Cobwebs Cottage.

Pluckley is widely recognised for its various ghouls, allegedly having up to fifteen official sightings over the years.

Local pubs The Black Horse and The Blacksmith’s Arms are both home to several ghosts, along with the chillingly named ‘Screaming Woods’, where some brave souls choose to spend the night camping.

Robin Medcalf said: “Despite its ghoulish back story, Pluckley is a wonderful community to deliver to. The only spirits that I’ve seen personally are the ones in the local pub, but it’s amazing to see all the ghost enthusiasts flock to the village from all over the world.”
