Thieves have hauled off a post box from the middle of a North Staffordshire village. The red box, on a black pole, had previously sat in Rudyard.
Now it’s gone after being ripped out from its location near the mini-roundabout at the Camrose Hill and Rudyard Road junction. Today and Royal Mail, who are responsible for the nation’s post boxes, say police have been contacted.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of the theft of a postbox in Rudyard and have reported it to the police for investigation. Customers can alternatively use the postboxes at Upper Rudyard or Horton or drop off their mail at any Post Office branch.”
We have contacted Staffordshire Police for a statement. Meanwhile anyone with information should call 101.
