Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a knife attack in Erdington. Officers issued the update today after a Birmingham man was arrested.
A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries in a reported stabbing on Fentham Road. Police sealed off the road after the incident at around 8.25pm on March 31.
Police confirmed a man aged 44 was arrested yesterday, Friday, April 12, in connection with the attack. Richard Palmer, from Birmingham, was later charged with attempted murder and possession of a blade in a public place.

It was not believed the victim’s injuries were life-threatening, police said. The update read: “We’ve charged a man with attempted murder following a knife attack in Birmingham.
“A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries on Fentham Road around 8.25pm on March 31. Thankfully, the injuries were not life-threatening. Following enquiries, a 44-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the attack.
“Richard Palmer, from Birmingham, has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a blade in a public place. He has also been charged with a bilking and assault in relation to a separate incident.
“He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.”
