A postman was ‘immediately suspended’ from duty after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman as he delivered her mail.
Royal Mail is investigating the allegation which has been made by a Stoke-on-Trent woman and dates back to the summer.
The same allegation has been lodged with Staffordshire Police.
The woman says she was standing on her front doorstep in a dress when the postie ‘pulled her top down twice’.
The complainant told StokeonTrentLive: “I was wearing a summer dress so maybe he could see a bit more of my chest but there was still no need for him to do what he did. He said something about my boobs. I said they’re just feeding vessels.
“The next minute he leaned forward, came up the step towards me, and pulled my top down twice.
“I was very shaken by what happened. I couldn’t believe it. I was disgusted and shocked. You don’t expect this from a postman.”

The mother, and her daughter, are calling for the postie to be permanently removed from his usual round.
They immediately lodged a complaint with Royal Mail which is subject to an ‘ongoing investigation’.
The daughter added: “I was angry when my mum explained everything to me.”
Police are aware of the allegation.
A police spokesman said: “An allegation of sexual assault has been made to the police. Our enquiries are ongoing.”
Royal Mail has confirmed that the employee – who has not been named – has been suspended.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “Royal Mail takes allegations of this nature extremely seriously. We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our people at all times.
“The employee in question was immediately suspended from duties pending an ongoing investigation in line with our policies and processes.”
