Police warn of potential theft increase after parcels stolen in Pinner

Police have warned of a potential increase in parcel thefts after an incident in Pinner.

Due to Royal Mail strikes, many online shoppers are turning to Amazon and other online retailers to make purchases in the run up to Christmas. If residents are not at home, parcels can be left on doorsteps or in safe spaces to await collection from buyers encouraging thefts.

Posting via OWL, PCSO Lee O’Brien said: “On Tuesday 6th December between approximately 4:10pm – 4:15pm, unattended parcels were stolen from the doorstep of a property in Moss Close, Pinner.

“On Friday afternoon, I found one of the parcels at the junction of Barrow Point Lane and Oakhill Avenue.

“Although we have a good video doorbell image of the thief, we do not have the registration of the white van he arrived in.
It is likely the parcels were dumped at the location shortly after they were stolen.

“Therefore, if you have CCTV, please can you review it and contact me if it captured the van or its registration number.

“This time of year can see an increase in parcel theft, so prevent yourself from becoming a victim of this opportunist crime by following the advice here.
