During the busy period Thornbury and Yate MP Claire Young has visited sorting offices in both towns to chat with staff and see how they are improving services in the area amid a ‘number of ongoing issues’.
Ms Young said: “In the run up to Christmas, I stopped by both Yate and Thornbury sorting offices to chat with staff and hear about the work they’re doing to improve services and deliveries across our area.
“There are a number of ongoing issues, mostly fuelled by a lack of posties to keep on top of the volume of parcels and letters coming in.
“This has led to inconsistent deliveries and people getting their post very late, particularly in Yate.
“Yate currently has vacancies to fill – you can find out more on their website.”
