Sign outside a UK Post Office

What a month May has turned out to be. We’ve had not one, not two, but three bank holidays. And it has been bliss.

While we usually see two Mondays off work in May – with the Early May Bank Holiday on the first Monday and the Spring Bank Holiday the last Monday – we got an extra day off to celebrate King Charles’ Coronation.

Surely everyone loves a bank holiday, but it can scupper your admin slightly. For example, many services close for the day.

Expecting a parcel or an important letter? Or needing to send out a birthday card? Here’s what you need to know about post office opening hours this bank holiday…

Will post offices be open bank holiday Monday?

You might want to wait a minute before getting mad at Mr Postman – it’s likely post offices may be closed on Bank Holiday Monday (May 29).

You should check your local post office’s opening hours as some may still be open, however, it’s important to note that even if your local office is open, Royal Mail workers won’t be making any deliveries.

So, the earliest you can expect your post is Tuesday, May 30.
