Post Office services return to Anstey after months-long closure

People in Anstey are set to see their post office reopen months after it closed. The former branch shut in March, but the service has now moved to a new location less than 100m down the Bradgate Road.

It will now be homed in the Londis store at the Nook and will be open to customers for an extra 20 hours per week, totalling 64 hours between Monday and Saturday.

New Postmaster Balu Odedra, who has operated the village store for more than 10 years, is particularly excited about the move. The shop owner said he has never closed for a single day – even when the village faced a power cut.

Customers travelling by car will be able to use the Nook car park which is a stone’s throw from Londis.
