Post Office set to open in Rise Park after branch closure 3 years ago

A Nottingham suburb will once again benefit from a post office – three years after its previous branch closed. The opening date has been announced for Rise Park Post Office which will be located at Crest Mini Mart in Tithe Gardens, Nottingham.

The previous branch at Bestwood Park Drive West closed in August 2019 due to the resignation of the Postmaster. It will reopen at its new location on Monday, May 9 at 1pm, it has been announced.

The opening hours will be from 7am until 9pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 8pm on Sundays. This will offer 96 hours of Post Office service a week – a Post Office counter will be alongside the retail counter of the convenience store. Richard Clark, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring Post Office services to Rise Park as we know how important a Post Office is to a community. The branch will be open from early until late seven days a week.”

The new premises has level access at the entrance. Currently, the door is not wide enough for wheelchair access, however, the new Postmaster will be increasing the width to meet accessibility requirements.
