Postal services set to return to Eyres Monsell after closure last year

Postal services are set to return to Eyres Monsell, in Leicester, after a former Post Office branch closed last year.

The new counter is exected to open in March at the newly-built pharmacy in Sturdee Road, following a public consultation.

The former branch a short walk away at The Exchange, in Sturdee Road, closed in July 2021.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.”

The service will be part of a retail counter at Monsell Pharmacy, and will operate for fewer hours than the former branch. Customers will be able to use the new postal service on Fridays from 9am to 5.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm.

It will offer a range of services and products including vehicle tax and euros and dollars travel money, and will have a dedicated customer car park.

The new counter will be located around 100 metres from the former branch at The Exchange in Sturdee Road, Eyres Monsell

Post Office has proposed to restore services from March 7, this year.

Customers can share their views as part of the of the consultation which ends on February, 22.
