The postman spoke about the ‘worst thing he’s ever seen’

A postman who works for Royal Mail has shared a common mishap some homeowners often make that could stop them from receiving their mail.

TikToker Ben Davis shared his personal view on the “worst thing he’s ever seen” whilst working on the job – and it’s not for the reason you might think.

In the video – which has surpassed 350,000 views to date – the man described his frustration over a simple mistake that a lot of people awaiting their deliveries have commonly fallen victim to.

In the TikTok video, Ben joked that homeowners who are guilty of the mistake in question will “never get any post”.

He said: “As a postman, the worst thing I ever see is when number eight have nailed on their number to the door upside down.

“They think number eight is the same whichever way – but no!

“You need to have the bigger loop underneath – otherwise it undermines the structural integrity of the eight, and it’s liable to topple and become an infinity symbol.

“If you live at number infinity Smith Road, you are never getting any post – thank you very much,” he added.

Viewers took to the comment section to share their own personal stories about mishaps with door numbers.

“There’s a house round the corner from me who’s used a nine as a six and it enrages me,” one said.

A second commented: “I ordered a 90 and they send me 06, straight in the bin, what the heck.”

Ben responded to the comment: “Absolutely fuming about this”.

A third wrote: “A six is not the same as an upside-down nine.”

“Live at number eight… Immediately going to check my door…” Another penned.
