PostNL improves management decision making

To better respond to advances in e-commerce, PostNL is to give more responsibility to its two-person Executive Committee (EC), who will make decisions in e-commerce and international activities.

The management board will retain its existing members, but the current Executive Committee members Liesbeth Kaashoek and Arno van Bijnen will step down on 1st February 2023.

In the new management structure, the EC will have three responsibilities – e-commerce commerce, e-commerce operations and international operations. The new EC will begin in this new role from 1st January 2023, with the current EC members supporting the handover for a month to the yet-to-be-named members for the first month.

According to PostNL, e-commerce now accounts for 70% of its revenues. The idea is for the postal operator to respond “even better and faster to developments in digitalisation, innovation and sustainability, and meet the expectations of customers and consumers.”

The planned changes to governance of the organisation is subject to consent from PostNL’s Works Council. New EC members will be announced in the coming weeks.
